Setting up the Eurosteam® Next Generation Iron 1st time:
Prime the iron prior to 1st use…
– Place the resting pad on the ironing board and set the iron horizontal, so that the sole plate is on the resting pad.
– Remove the safety cap and place next to your iron.
– Fill your measuring cup with tap, bottled or spring water. Fill to just below the max line.
– With the funnel tip in place pour the water from the measuring cup into the iron.
– Place the safety cap back onto the iron and screw on until finger tight. Do not over tighten for this may cause excessive wear on the o-ring at the base of the safety cap.
– Check your iron settings, making sure that the steam dial (around the white steam button) is set all the way off (counter clockwise).
– Plug your iron into a power surge protector bar, and plug the protector bar into a wall outlet. You will see the light on the switch on. Wait until the light goes off indicating that the iron is ready for use.
– Holding your iron open steam dial all the way by turning clockwise allowing steam to escape down and away and allow full tank of steam to escape.
– Place unit back on resting pad and allow unit to cool.
Priming is only done once prior to starting regular use.
Using the Eurosteam® Next Generation Iron
Place the resting pad on the ironing board and set the iron horizontal, so that the sole plate is on the resting pad.
Remove the safety cap and place next to your iron.
Fill your measuring cup with tap, bottled or spring water. Fill to just below the max line.
With the funnel tip in place pour the water from the measuring cup into the iron.
Place the safety cap back onto the iron and screw on until finger tight. Do not over tighten for this may cause excessive wear on the o-ring at the base of the safety cap.
Check your iron settings, making sure that the steam dial (around the white steam button) is set all the way off (counter clockwise).
Plug your iron into a power surge protector bar, and plug the protector bar into a wall outlet. You will see the light on the switch on. Wait until the light goes off indicating that the iron is ready for use.
For best results it is suggested that you lightly press the steam button to iron your cloths. The steam will only come out when you press the button.
You may notice that the ready light continues to cycle off and on once you start ironing; this is just the iron re-heating itself. If the light should come on while you iron, simply continue ironing.
Using the steam dial:
On the top of the iron by the safety cap is the steam dial, which turns from left to right. (clockwise and counter clockwise)
If you turn the dial to the right (clockwise), it will produce a steady flow of steam, the farther right you turn it will increase the amount of steam coming out. The steam will not stop coming out until you turn completely to the left (counter clockwise). You will lose water very quickly if you leave steam dial open. Constant steam should only be used occasionally.
Make sure that the constant steam button is all the way to the left (counter clockwise) when you first plug in iron to heat up and wait until the ready light turns off.
For best results set the steam dial to off and use the center white button to release bursts of steam as needed.
What kind of water should I use in my Eurosteam® Next Generation Iron?
In the Eurosteam® Next Generation Iron the manufacturer recommends that tap, spring or bottled drinking water are used.
My iron is not performing as demonstrated.
The Eurosteam® Next Generation Iron has a boiler system inside to produce steam. The boiler does require priming in order for it to work at full capacity, like the demonstration. To prime the iron please follow priming instructions at top of page.
My Iron is not getting hot enough.
The Eurosteam® Next Generation Iron sole plate does not get hot like a traditional iron. The iron is intended to be a steam iron and works best with steam, continuous or bursts.
My iron is heating up but is not producing any steam.
Every 3-6 months it is recommended that the boiler tank be cleaned, releasing any mineral or calcium build up. To clean your iron measure ½ white vinegar and ½ water into the measure cup and pour into empty boiler tank. Plug in iron and allow the iron to heat until ready light indicates it is ready. DO NOT PRESS THE STEAM BUTTON DURING THIS TIME. After heating depress steam button 3 – 4 times, shake vigorously and allow the iron to cool down for 25 -30 minutes. Once cool, shake the iron again. Remove safety cap and empty vinegar/water solution, rinse tank with fresh water. Repeat if needed. Always store the unit with the boiler tank empty and the safety cap off and this help decrease build up.
Steam is leaking from the safety cap.
If there is steam coming from the safety cap area there may be a worn o-ring (the ring around the base of the safety cap). Time and wear of the product or tightening the screw cap to tight can cause wearing to the o-ring. Inside the Eurosteam® Iron box there are 3 extra o-rings for a quick fix. To replace the o-ring simply remove the worn o-ring that is on the safety cap and replace it with the new o-ring.
